What is SAFETY Act?
US Congress created the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies (SAFETY) Act of 2002 in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks to encourage the creation and use of Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technologies (QATTs) and provide liability protections to their sellers and end users.
Under the Act, companies that develop, sell, or use these technologies are shielded from certain legal claims in the event of a terrorist attack
Technologies eligible for protections undergo a rigorous evaluation process, ensuring they meet government standards for effectiveness in combating terrorism.
